Elections
Elections to the public and staff governor positions on the QVH council of governors take place annually, ready for new governors to begin their term of office on 1 July. Each eligible member of the foundation trust is entitled to vote. Formal notices of the nomination and elections processes, and the results, are published on this website.
Each eligible member will receive ballot papers by post. At present, QVH does not offer e-voting facilities. An independent election scrutineer is appointed to oversee each election on behalf of the trust.
You don't need qualifications or specific experience to be a governor, just commitment, some spare time and a genuine interest in working with the hospital to provide the best services for patients. The nomination process for the 2013 Elections has now closed. Please see the statement of candidates for further details.
Ballot papers will be circulated to all eligible members on 16 May 2013 and the election will close on 6 June 2013.
New eligibility criteria
It is essential that all candidates are fully informed and prepared for what the role entails, therefore all candidates must have attended one of our election events or made contact with the trust to be eligible to stand for election.
If you are interested in standing for election and have not yet attended one of our election events, please contact Claire Charman, Engagement Coordinator, as soon as possible by email or by calling on 01342 414200.
