Today the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust announced that Richard Tyler has been appointed to the post of chief executive. His appointment follows a competitive recruitment process and was approved by the council of governors at its meeting last night. Richard will start work at the hospital on 1 July 2013.

QVH is to feature in a major new BBC documentary starting on BBC Two at 9pm on Tuesday 26 March. The eight-part series was filmed on location across the NHS last October during a single 24 hour period.

Results from the latest national survey of NHS staff show that staff at Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) in East Grinstead believe it is the best specialist hospital in the country at which to work or receive treatment.

Oxted resident Alison Sweeting was among the QVH patients who took part in the recent national cancer patient experience survey which rated QVH top in the country for quality of care. She spoke to the East Grinstead Courier and Observer about her care at QVH.

Results from the national cancer patient survey for 2011/12 reveal that 94% of patients rated the care they received at QVH as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ – the highest score in the country.
