Parking is free on weekends and bank holidays, from 6pm to 8am on weekdays and at all times for disabled badge holders, for whom there are several reserved bays, including by the Minor Injuries Unit.

There is no charge for motorcycle parking.

There are also several short stay bays across the site where parking is free of charge for up to 20 minutes. These can be found near the Main Entrance (Canadian Wing), the X-Ray Department (clock tower entrance) the Minor Injuries Unit and the Jubilee Centre.

Visitors who do not park within an appropriate bay or do not display a valid ticket are liable to be issued with a penalty notice.

Main outpatients drop off

For easier access to main outpatients, there is a new drop off area accessed from the Minor Injuries Unit and Jubilee Centre car park.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available from the Main Entrance and the Minor Injuries Unit. If none are available, please speak to a member of staff.

There is a cash machine in the main corridor but please note that it charges for withdrawals.

Help with transport

Patients are expected to make their own way to and from hospital, or with help from friends and relatives. There are certain circumstances in which patients may be able to seek some help – subject to strict criteria. If you have any questions about patient transport, please contact the Patient Transport Bureau on 0300 311 1234.

Patients on some benefits, e.g. income support, may be able to claim back the cost of their travel (not taxis) from the hospital cashier's office. Patients must provide valid evidence of their appointment and their entitlement to help with transport costs. For further information, please call the cashier on 01342 414416.
