Mr Jag Dhanda
Consultant Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgeon

Mr Jag Dhanda is a triple qualified surgeon with a medical degree, a dental degree and a doctorate in philosophy. He is also a Clinical Reader at Brighton Medical School. Mr Dhanda has also obtained a Medical Research Council funded intercalating degree (Bachelor of Science) in cellular and molecular pathology. He has dual membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDSRCS, MRCS and FRCS) and has trained in Bristol, London, Birmingham and Liverpool as well as East Grinstead.
Mr Dhanda is the only UK surgeon to have obtained the college, faculty and specialty research fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship, British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons/Facial Surgery Foundation-Saving Faces Research Fellowship and Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship).
After completing his higher surgical training, Mr Dhanda went on to gain experience as an interface fellow as the highest ranked maxillofacial trainee for the nationally competitive and prestigious interface fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology.
He has also been awarded the National Cancer Research Institute Head and Neck Clinical Studies Group Clinical Trials Fellowship and holds both an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at Imperial College London and a Honorary Clinical Readers position at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He is authored several book chapters and published in journals including British Journal of Cancer, Head and Neck and the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Mr Dhanda is currently setting up the MSc programme in dental implant reconstructive surgery at Brighton Medical School and was recently awarded the Presidents Prize at the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Conference in 2018 for his work on iKnife technology at Imperial College, London. He also hosts the annual advanced microvascular, virtual surgical planning and cadaveric perforator course.
Mr Dhanda is a member of council of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of council of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Faculty of Dental Surgery.
