Joss Bigmore
Chair
Joss Bigmore is Group Chair of Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. He became Chair of Queen Victoria Hospital in October 2026, extending his Group Chair role across all three trusts as part of the strategic partnership.
Joss first joined the NHS in March 2023 as Chair of Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and was appointed Chair of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in February 2026.
Joss retired from a career in finance in 2016, when he was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, having started his career in the trading pits of the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE). He holds an Economics degree from Cambridge University, graduating from Downing College in 1998.
Joss has been a Guildford Borough Councillor since 2019, representing Christchurch and most recently Merrow. He led the Council between September 2020 and September 2022, before returning to the backbenches following the local elections in 2023.
A keen golfer and cyclist, Joss is also Treasurer of the Charlotteville Jubilee Trust, which manages The Spike, a Community and Heritage Centre in Charlotteville.
