Elections

Elections to the public and staff governor positions on the QVH council of governors take place annually. Each eligible member of the foundation trust is entitled to vote. Formal notices of the nomination and elections processes, and the results, are published on this website.

An independent election scrutineer is appointed to oversee each election on behalf of the trust. Recent changes in legislation now enable online voting for those members who provide us with an email address. Members without email will continue to receive their ballot papers by post.

You don’t need qualifications or specific experience to be a governor, just commitment, some spare time and a genuine interest in working with the hospital to provide the best services for patients. For more information, please email  Leonora May, Deputy Company Secretary, at leonora.may1@nhs.net

Are you interested in becoming a QVH public governor?

We are launching the process to find people who would like to stand for election to one of our 20 public governor vacancies. Elected governors will take up post from 1 July 2023 for a term of three years. Find out more here.
