Visiting is not allowed during meal times (12.00-13.00 and 17.00-18.00). This is to allow patients time to eat their meals and ensures that staff are available for patients who need help with eating. If you want to help your relative or friend to eat we are happy for you to do this. Please speak to the nurse in charge.
Flowers
Unfortunately, flowers can increase the risk of infection on certain wards because of the specialised nature of the treatments provided. For this reason, flowers are not allowed in the Burns Unit or certain areas of Ross Tilley Ward.
Smoking
Queen Victoria Hospital is a smoke free trust. Smoking is not allowed inside the hospital, in any entrances or doorways or within the grounds. Only vaping is allowed in designated areas. For more information please speak to a member of staff.
