Finding the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)

The Community Diagnostic Centre is a standalone building located at the front of the Queen Victoria Hospital site, between the Main Gate and Gate 2.

The building is shown as Building 23 on the hospital site map and is clearly signposted

Getting to the CDC

By car
If you are attending an appointment at the Community Diagnostic Centre, please use the main visitor car park. There are two dedicated drop-off bays outside the building for patients who require assistance getting to and from their appointment. These bays are for drop-off and collection only and should not be used for parking.

Walking from the main visitor car park
From the main visitor car park, cross the zebra crossings next to the car park and then follow the pedestrian route behind the Jubilee Building to reach the Community Diagnostic Centre (Building 23).

Please note that this route includes a small number of steps, with an accessible ramp running alongside them. Patients and visitors who require step-free access can use the ramp or the Blue Badge parking bays located directly outside the Community Diagnostic Centre.

By bus or on foot
The Community Diagnostic Centre is located alongside the public footpath at the front of the hospital site.

If you are arriving by bus, the nearest bus stop is outside the main hospital entrance. From there, follow the public footpath ahead of you towards the Community Diagnostic Centre. This is the quickest and most direct route to the building.

By bicycle
Cycle parking is available outside the Community Diagnostic Centre.

Accessibility

The Community Diagnostic Centre has been designed to be accessible for all patients and visitors. The building is single-storey, with step-free access throughout the facility.

Two parking bays for Blue Badge holders are available directly outside Building 23 for patients who require them.

The CDC also includes a Changing Places toilet for patients and visitors who require additional space.

Patients attending Building 17 should continue to use the two parking bays for Blue Badge holders available in the Tennis Court Car Park.
