Work experience placements for students in years 11-13, aged 15-17 years

Applications for work experience placements will be considered primarily for students in years 11-13, aged from 15 to 17 years old who attend school, college or educational establishments on the approved local schools list or live within a 10 mile radius of QVH [Link opens PDF]. Applications will also be considered for children and siblings of staff members who wish to pursue an NHS career.

Placements will be available only during agreed weeks throughout the year, in line with the local academic calendar.

Anyone applying for any onsite work experience at QVH must complete some form of virtual work related experience where available and provide proof of completion.

Please note: QVH is unable to change placement dates or departments at short notice. It is essential that all dates are agreed with the applicants school/college before applying. Once a placement has commenced QVH is unable to change the young person’s placement schedule or departments.

If you are interested in a work experience placement you will be asked to complete an application form remembering to attach your CV, evidence of virtual work experience, and strong supporting statement stating why you would like the placement. Onsite placements are subject to availability, risk assessment and entry criteria being met.
