Community Diagnostic Centre @ QVH: Easy and quick access to diagnostic services for patients

The QVH Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) provides a ‘one stop shop’ for diagnostics, easily accessible to primary care partners and local patients closer to home. The CDC pathways can help reduce the time patients wait for essential tests which will inform their diagnosis and treatment.

What we offer:

A range of diagnostic imaging and physiological tests with short wait times, including:

Diagnostic imaging:

  • X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • CT
  • MRI
  • DEXA.

Physiological tests (direct access):

  • Spirometry (+/- reversibility testing)
  • FeNo
  • CO monitoring
  • Pulse Oximetry.

Physiological tests (as part of pathways):

  • Full lung function tests
  • Field tests (6 minute walk tests)
  • 24 hour ambulatory tapes
  • ECGs
  • Echocardiograms
  • Sleep studies
  • Phlebotomy
  • Teledermatology.

Diagnostic pathways:

  • Breathlessness Pathway – for patients with chronic, unexplained breathlessness (>8 weeks). Includes coordinated respiratory and cardiac investigations with virtual MDT review
  • Standalone Respiratory Diagnostics – single page referral form for spirometry, reversibility testing, FeNO, and other respiratory investigations
  • Non‑Specific Symptom (NSS) Pathway – for patients with concerning generalised symptoms (e.g. weight loss, fatigue) who do not meet site‑specific cancer pathway criteria.
