Keeping services running during the local water supply issue

You may have heard that East Grinstead and the surrounding area is currently experiencing a water supply problem, affecting many homes and businesses. South East Water is working hard to resolve this, and we’re in close contact with them to make sure we can continue caring for our patients.

At Queen Victoria Hospital, your safety and wellbeing remain our priority. Thanks to the teamwork of our staff, we’ve put strong plans in place including having a water tanker visit us onsite to keep our supply running until the situation is resolved, so our essential services can continue as normal.

We’re reviewing things daily to make sure everything runs smoothly. If you have an appointment with us please attend as planned. If any changes are needed, we’ll contact patients directly.

We’d like to reassure you that our teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes so that your care is not disrupted. Thank you for your understanding and support as we manage this together.

Helpful information for patients and visitors

  • Appointments: Please attend as planned unless we contact you directly. Some appointments we may move to virtual where clinically appropriate, but will contact you if this is the case.
  • Visiting wards: To help us ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients, we are asking you not to visit patients on the wards whilst the water supply issues continue.
  • Bring essentials: If you’re visiting, please bring your own drinking water and any snacks you may need, as our catering facilities for visitors are temporarily closed.
  • Use water wisely: We’re conserving water on site, so please help us by using only what you need.

We will provide further updates here on our website and on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
