Update on the local water supply issues – Thursday 15 January
Thursday 15th January 2026
A quick update from Queen Victoria Hospital about the ongoing water supply issues in East Grinstead and the surrounding area.
Since yesterday, South East Water has been able to restore the mains water to a number of local East Grinstead residents, however, they have agreed we will remain fed by a water tanker until the system stabilises. This is expected to be the situation until early next week.
The water supply from the tankers means that we can continue to prioritise patient care and run our services as planned. So if you have an appointment or surgery planned please do come in as expected.
If you have a minor injury or ailment, our Minor Injuries Unit is open every day from 8am-8pm. You can see what our team can help with on our website https://www.qvh.nhs.uk/our-services/minor-injuries-unit/
Helpful information to know:
- Appointments and surgery: Please attend as planned unless we contact you directly.
- Food and drink: Our Spitfire Restaurant and Hurricane Cafe have reopened if you need to buy food or drink. However if you want to bring your own drinks or snacks you are welcome to.
- Help us save water: Every drop counts, so please use only what you need.
- Questions or concerns? Speak to a member of our team during your visit.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
