QVH rolls out wi-fi for patients and visitors

QVH has introduced free wi-fi for patients and visitors at key locations across the site. Wi-fi hotspots have been installed in all wards and outpatient waiting areas, the café and restaurant.
The internet access has been introduced to enable patients and visitors to keep in touch with e-mail and chat and to browse the internet. While there are few restrictions on the use of the service, the streaming or downloading of music or videos is not available in order to prevent the system slowing down for other users.
Posters indicate the location of hotspots and explain how to access the service. Users must provide an e-mail address to register and receive a password, although e-mail addresses will not be used for any other purpose.
