Patients and visitors asked to nominate QVH staff for 2015 awards
Monday 12th January 2015
Patients and visitors at QVH are being asked to nominate staff from the hospital who have shown exceptional care and compassion for the annual patient experience award.
The annual QVH staff awards celebrate long service and educational achievements as well as recognising exceptional service, teamwork and service improvements. Patients and visitors are invited to identify their patient champions through the public-nominated patient experience award.
Nominations can be made online or by calling the corporate affairs team on 01342 414511. The deadline for nominations is midday on Friday 20 February 2015.
Members of the public whose nominated staff are shortlisted will be invited to the awards ceremony in March. It is being held at the Felbridge Hotel which is supporting the awards again this year by waiving its usual fees.
Chief Executive Richard Tyler said: “At QVH we believe that an excellent patient experience is just as important as excellent clinical care. These awards celebrate our staff who live our values and go out of their way to show true compassion to patients and visitors.”
Previous winners of the patient experience award include:
- Children’s nurse Tracy Taylor, for the care and compassion she showed to a whole family when their three-year-old girl suffered burns at Christmas
- Appointments coordinator Jenny Francis, who visited a patient at home to make sure he knew that his appointment had been changed
- Nurse Nazli Chase who was nominated by two patients, one of whom said “The way she took the time to comfort and reassure me was really touching.”
