Junior doctors’ strikes

The British Medical Association has announced that junior doctors will take industrial action on 12 and 26 January and 10 February. These strikes were originally planned for December last year but were suspended to allow talks to continue.

QVH is carrying out detailed work to minimise any impact on patients. While patient safety and care quality will not be affected, it is likely that some inpatient, day case and outpatient appointments will need to be rearranged. The minor injuries unit will be open as normal.

We are working to identify patients whose appointments will need to be rearranged so that we can notify them in advance. We aim to ensure that no patient appointments are cancelled on the day.

For Tuesday 12 January, please assume that your appointment at QVH is unaffected by the strikes unless we contact you to tell you otherwise.

We will be continuing to assess the impact of the strikes planned for 26 January and 10 February and will be in touch with patients whose appointments might be affected in due course.
