Junior doctors’ strike 26-28 April

British Medical Association junior doctor members have voted to hold a 48-hour strike from 8am on Tuesday 26 April to 8am on Thursday 28 April.

QVH is carrying out detailed work to minimise any impact on patients. While patient safety and care quality will not be affected, it is likely that some inpatient, day case and outpatient appointments will need to be rearranged.

The minor injuries unit will be open as normal but may be busier than usual as A&E departments elsewhere are affected by the strike.

NHS England has more information on the strikes and what patients and the wider public can do to help ensure the NHS continues to operate as effectively as possible during their busy period at www.nhs.uk/strike.

At QVH we are working to identify patients whose appointments will need to be rearranged so that we can notify them in advance. We aim to ensure that no patient appointments are cancelled on the day.

Please assume that your appointment at QVH is unaffected by the strikes unless we contact you to tell you otherwise.
