New community respiratory service

Patients from East Grinstead and the surrounding area can now access a comprehensive outpatient respiratory clinic here at QVH starting today (Monday 9 October).

Based in the main outpatients building, the clinic can provide:

  • investigation of respiratory symptoms including coughing, wheezing, breathlessness and non-cardiac chest pain
  • investigation and management of common respiratory conditions including Asthma, Bronchiectasis, COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Respiratory Infections and Sarcoidosis
  • assessment of chest x-ray abnormalities where cancer is not suspected
  • assessment of abnormal GP spirometry results.

We will also have access to a range of diagnostics such as spirometry and lung function test.

The Clinical Lead for the service is Dr Mark Jackson MB ChB, FRCP, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with an interest in General (Internal) Medicine. He will also be part of an exciting local project, working closely with GP practices and community teams to improve management of respiratory conditions across East Grinstead.

If you’d like further information about the service you can contact the team on 01342 414387. Referrals to the new service will be via the electronic e-referral system.
