Show your appreciation this Nurses’ Day
Monday 10th May 2021
Wednesday 12 May is Nurses’ Day – a date observed around the world to recognise the contributions that nurses and healthcare assistants make to the NHS and society. The date is significant because it also marks the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, known as the founder of modern nursing. She became well known while taking care of the wounded soldiers during the Crimean War and was dubbed The Lady with the Lamp because of her habit of making rounds at night.
As a way of thanking our nurses and healthcare assistants here at QVH for their care and dedication to our patients, we have created two posters for you to print off and put in your window, so you can join us in marking the day.
One is a pre-coloured poster, the other is a colour-in lamp, the symbol of Florence Nightingale, perfect for children or for a spot of therapeutic colouring.
Please share pictures of your windows and colouring in with us on our social media. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Please tag us and use the hashtag #NursesDay
