Monday 15th November 2021
Dr Anita Donley OBE has been appointed as Chair at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH).
Anita is a consultant physician who retired from clinical practice in 2019. She is an experienced Chair at a national level with broad experience in healthcare, quality and patient safety, medical education and regulation. Anita has worked for over 20 years contributing to strategy and policy in healthcare at a national level.
She takes on the role this week following the retirement of former QVH Chair, Beryl Hobson, who stepped down following 7 years at the organisation.
Steve Jenkin, chief executive at Queen Victoria Hospital, said “I am confident that Anita will use her experience in managing strategic change and system working, to ensure QVH works through the challenges ahead with good governance and meaningful engagement with staff, patients, our governors and the public. I look forward to working with her.”
Anita Donley said “I am honoured to be asked to become Chair of a hospital with such a strong reputation for both clinical outcomes and compassionate care. From my previous work, I have some understanding of both the strengths of the hospital and the challenges that QVH is facing. I look forward to talking to staff and other key stakeholders in the coming weeks and building a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Trust.”
