GB Paralympian and Strictly star Will Bayley becomes QVH Charity ambassador
Tuesday 2nd November 2021
GB Paralympic table tennis player and former BBC ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Will Bayley MBE has not long returned from Tokyo with an impressive two silver medals and he has already gained a new accolade. He has just been announced as the new charity ambassador for QVH Charity.
The charity supports the work of Queen Victoria Hospital which provides life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation services for adults and children across the South of England.
Will said, “I know first-hand what it’s like to be an NHS patient and am proud to have this opportunity to support the work of a local NHS hospital charity. Having grown up nearby in Tunbridge Wells I know how important Queen Victoria Hospital is and was able to visit recently, hearing from staff about just some of the incredible things that happen here.
“I’m excited to be involved and to be an ambassador for their QVH Charity. It means a lot to be able to help and I hope together we can help raise funds for the extra things that are outside of what the NHS can fund. Initiatives like children’s specialist camps, medical equipment and different ways to support staff.”
Camilla Slattery, Head of Fundraising for QVH Charity, said: “We are delighted that Will has agreed to become an ambassador for our charity. He is such an inspiration in terms of what he has overcome and continues to strive for. We are looking forward to working with Will and our supporters to continue raising funds needed to make a real difference to patients.”
