Jackie Smith appointed new chair of Queen Victoria Hospital

Jackie Smith has been appointed as Chair at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH) and will take up the role in early July.

Jackie was chief executive of the Nursing and Midwifery Council from December 2011 to July 2018, and is currently Chair of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust.

Jackie Smith said “I am very much looking forward to joining QVH. The hospital has an outstanding reputation for clinical outcomes delivered with compassion and care, and I can see that everybody involved is passionate about securing the hospital for the long term. I understand something of the challenges that QVH is facing and I look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure those challenges are navigated in a way that brings further benefits for patients and staff.”
