Reintroduction of parking charges from Monday 9 May

From Monday 9 May we are re-introducing parking charges in our visitor car park.

Free parking was introduced at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, with the government providing funding to hospitals cover this. However, that funding ended on 1 April.

Parking charges will operate from Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. The cost is £1 per hour for the first 3 hours, and £4 for a 3-10 hour stay.

The charges are the same as they were before the pandemic.

Disabled drivers (displaying a valid blue badge) and motorcycles park for free.

There are no charges at weekends or bank holidays.

In response to feedback from patients and visitors we have new parking machines so payment can now be made by cash, card or Apple Pay.

We have a number of spaces for disabled badge holders, including by the Minor Injuries Unit.

There are also a small number of short stay bays across the site where parking is free of charge for up to 20 minutes. These can be found near the Main Entrance (Canadian Wing), the X-Ray Department (clock tower entrance), the Minor Injuries Unit, and the Jubilee Centre.

Visitors who do not park within an appropriate bay or do not display a valid ticket are liable to be issued with a penalty notice.
