Mask wearing at our hospital

In line with new national guidance, we have reviewed our advice for patients and visitors around wearing a face mask whilst at our hospital.

Staff in our clinical areas will continue wearing a face mask to protect vulnerable patients and colleagues, but for patients it becomes personal choice. If you choose to wear one that’s fine, we don’t mind. If a clinical area is busy you may choose to wear one on that basis.

Patients attending our minor injuries unit will still be asked to continue wearing a face mask, as is the current practice. We will keep this under review and advise if it changes.

You are no longer required to wear a face mask in a non-clinical area, for example the car park or in the corridors.

Before coming to the hospital please ensure that you are well and do not have any symptoms of COVID. This includes a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or loss of taste and/or smell, as well as the extended list of symptoms listed on the NHS website. If you have any of these please do not come, even if they are mild or intermittent.

If you have any questions please speak to a member of staff.

Thank you for your cooperation.
