Arrangements during Resident Doctor industrial action – 14-19 November 2025

From 7am on Friday 14 November until 7am Wednesday 19 November there is a period of planned industrial action by Resident Doctors (formerly known as Junior Doctors) who are members of the British Medical Association (BMA).

During this time our senior doctors, nurses and other clinical staff will be ensuring we continue to provide urgent and emergency treatment, including time critical surgery. Our minor injuries unit at QVH will also be open as usual from 8am to 8pm.

Patient care remains our priority. We will only reschedule appointments and procedures where necessary and will re-book immediately, where possible. If you are due to come to an appointment please continue as planned unless we have contacted you.

The NHS is asking patients to choose services wisely during the industrial action and take simple steps to help ensure care is available to patients who need it most. This includes using 111 online as the first port of call for health needs and continuing to only use 999 if it is a life-threatening emergency.
