Liz James
Public Governor

Dr Liz James started her research career with a Microbiology degree at Sussex University, followed by a PhD with the Chester Beatty Institute of Cancer Research. She has also been a member of the MRC Cell Mutation Unit and Trafford Centre at Sussex University, and the Blond McIndoe Research Centre here at QVH.
She worked closely with other scientists and the surgical teams at QVH for nearly 10 years before continuing her wound healing and tissue reconstruction research, plus teaching, at University of Brighton until retiring in 2014.
In her role as governor, Liz is passionate about supporting the continuation of innovative treatments and helping to protect the highly acclaimed and well deserved reputation of the medical teams, as well as the encouragement of members of the medical teams to reach their own personal goals.
