Mr Adam Gaunt

Special interests: Head and neck oncologic surgery; thyroid surgery; parathyroid surgery; laser surgery; salivary gland surgery; and sinus surgery.

Mr Adam Gaunt is an NHS consultant with clinics at Queen Victoria Hospital, Medway Maritime Hospital, and Darent Valley Hospital. At Queen Victoria Hospital he provides a tertiary surgical practice and performs major head and neck surgery treating cancer and complex benign conditions affecting the head and neck. Mr Gaunt also has an interest in thyroid and parathyroid surgery and provides expertise in a wide range of general ear nose and throat (ENT) conditions and surgery.

Mr Gaunt graduated from Brighton and Sussex Medical School. On leaving the medical school, he spent time as an ENT registrar across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and then the Midlands in some of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK, where he benefitted from mentorship from some of the best trainers in the field of ear nose and throat surgery.

He completed his training through a prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Interface Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. There, Mr Gaunt gained experience alongside some of the UK’s top ENT and Maxillofacial surgeons treating head and neck cancer. He also developed his skills in thyroid and parathyroid surgery in a tertiary endocrine surgery unit.

Currently, Mr Gaunt is a core-member of the West Kent Head and Neck Cancer multidisclipinary team (MDT), the West Kent Thyroid MDT, and a member of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid surgeons.
